Ashburton development
Members of the group are developing a new O gauge layout based on the Great Western Railway branch terminus at Ashburton in Devon.
The layout comprises a scenic section, consisting of five boards each four feet by two feet and a fiddle yard.
This page is intended to show the progress in its development.
February 2024
The construction of this layout has been under way for some time now, but has been interrupted by two enforced moves, and of course Covid-19. This post shows the current status of the layout.
The track on the scenic section has all been laid and servo-controlled points installed. Ballasting of the formation has commenced.
The station buildings and structures are being scratch built using photographs for guidance - a few of these are shown in this update.
