A visit to Pendon

On Sunday June 20th 2010 a number of group members took a trip to see the Pendon Museum at Long Wittenham, near Abingdon in Oxfordshire.

As Pendon didn't open until 2:00 pm, we took the opportunity to visit the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway during the morning and, after refreshment at 'The Plough' in Long Wittenham, proceeded to the museum.

We were fortunate to visit on one of only four days in this year when the Maddder Valley Railway was being operated. This, the Dartmoor Scene and the still developing Vale scene form the core of the museum.

The standard of modelling here is truly inspirational, whilst putting our own efforts in perspective, giving something to aspire to.

We can thoroughly recommend a visit to fellow railway modellers. For further details see our links page.
